The Table: Growing a Sustainer Program

Building a Community of Donors

Like many organizations, Feed the Children uses recurring donations as a fundamental part of their fundraising strategy. While most sustainer programs sit behind the scenes receiving monthly donations and individually thanking donors, Feed envisioned a virtual space to bring their individual supporters together into a community of online givers. The goal was two-fold: create a space for donors to interact with and encourage each other on their fundraising goals; and provide an opportunity for Feed to publicly acknowledge their monthly donors. Using TeamRaiser from Blackbaud’s Luminate Online platform, Feed the Children has been growing a sustainer program with their new peer-to-peer program for monthly donors: The Table.

How The Table Works:

Donors can become a Table creator when they commit to making a monthly donation. As a Table creator, you can design your own Table page then recruit friends and family to join by making a recurring gift of their own. Table creators can add contacts, send emails with pre-set templates, thank guests, host a dinner, or even share a favorite recipe. Table members are recognized on the Table page, and when their monthly gift is submitted, the impact thermometer increases. If you don’t want to create a Table of your own, locate and join a Table in your area through the interactive map!

This new peer-to-peer program allows fundraisers to tap into their networks to raise more money and have fun in the process. It also includes unique opportunities for fundraisers to interact with the Feed the Children community.

Use the interactive map to search for tables by table name, key words, host, or scroll over different areas of the country to see what tables are near you.

Each dollar donated provides $9 worth of food to children in need. See the impact of your donation from the interactive map!

Donors are asked to make their commitment to a recurring donation before providing their table information.

Recognize your top donors with a leaderboard to motivate and encourage fundraisers.

We are excited for Feed the Children to grow their monthly sustainer program with The Table project! Visit their Table page to learn more or to support children in need.
